Greg Dillon

You must all know Greg by now, he is the big guy with the thick black glasses that collects whisky and enjoys the odd beer or glass of champagne from time to time. He loves brands and spends his days building brands to increase their customer relevancy and commercial value. He met Kirsty in 2005 at a party in Canary Wharf, London whilst on placement with Reuters. The next day we swapped business cards and the rest is history. Although it did take him five years to get the courage to actually ask her out, as over the following few years Greg & Kirst had developed into the best of friends.

Kirsty Lavin

Kirsty is the gorgeous bride to be, a Mancunian through and through and passionate Manchester City fan, she loves all things fashion and has a penchant for the finer things in life.

Kirsty spends her days working for a lady’s fashion brand in London, so if you need any outfit advice, let her know.

Kirsty resisted Greg’s pending advances unsuccessfully in 2011 and has since made him the happiest man in the world.

Have you heard how she was proposed to? Quite a long story that involved a walking tour of London, Greg’s grandmother’s ring, a purpose-made box to conceal the ring, the steps of St. Pauls Cathedral, The Ivy, a bottle of Bollinger 1985 and a couple of cigars. Ask her about it sometime.

Ceremony Location

We are getting married in Mount Falcon in the West of Ireland. They are famed for their food as well as the lovely setting. The Luxury 4 star Mayo hotel Mount Falcon is located on the west bank of the River Moy, 100 acres of magical woodlands, between Foxford and Ballina, in North County Mayo. http://www.mountfalcon.com/

The church

We will be getting married by Fr John Durkan at Saint Thomas Church in Callow, Co. Mayo. Aside from the beautiful setting atop a hill looking over a lake, it also has a more personal meaning as both of our fathers are called Thomas.

About our honeymoon

We will be going on an all American adventure for our honeymoon, starting with a couple of weeks driving Historic Route 66 from Illinois to Los Angeles, hopefully in a 1969 Shelby Mustang, taking in all that America has to offer and experiencing the different subcultures along the way. Following our road trip we will be spending a week relaxing on a beach somewhere in Hawaii, preferably in a hotel on stilts if there is such a thing there!

Why drive from sea to shining sea?

We both love the idea of exploring America more and Greg has had a bizarre fascination with the Route 66 drive ever since watching Canonball Run as a kid, the theme song of which will be played full blast, on repeat, for the entire trip. Maybe with some other classic driving songs, we shall see.
